They say Men dont cry

Everyone feels the pain.. wonder why this myth that men dont cry

It drenched me completely,

Things became bad to worse,

Life became a circus and I became its joker,

"Men are supposed to be stronger, they are not supposed to cry".

I tried to be calm,

Somehow managed all the pain inside,

I let the tears dry,

But something inside kept on killing me,

I managed to keep a smile,

The world just wants to see fake masks,

It doesnt have time to look inside,

The pain inside me became worse,

The heart used to cry,

But eyes again managed to cheat this world,

And I didnt cry,

Somehow I feel I have become a shallow being,

Just because this world taught me that "Men dont cry",

Men do feel the pain,

Men also have hearts inside,

Men also need someone to listen to them,

And stand by their side,

They also need hands on their shoulders,

They also need someone to care,

But they only say that "Men dont cry".

Men are human beings with feelings - this is often ignored as you point out in your poem and the price is high in terms of depression, suicide etc. Hard-hearted feminists have also gone to the extreme by portraying men as stoney-hearted etc. Good poem.

This is so true. with the patriarchal norms of our society there is a predefined role for everyone. This makes it so difficult at times to express ones feelings and pain. I appreciate the effort you make here Kudos for that :)
