And now when he was gone

And now when he was gone

A Poem by CA Anurag Sharma
"

Please spare few minutes for the one who needs it. No one wants to be irritating, try to understand his/her condition

"
No one talked to him when he was alive,
Everyone treated him as a pesky fellow,
No one noticed that he was dying inside,
Their few minutes of attention could have saved his life,
They preferred to loathe him and label him as rude and arrogant,
No one noticed that how much weak he got inside,
He just wanted someone to be at his side,
But they were all busy in their lives,
And now when he was gone they labeled him as coward,
Because he ended his life by committing suicide,
What would have been his mental state?
Why did he choose this fate?
No one understands the plight of others,
A few minutes out of your precious life,
Can easy up someone's strife,
We all need someone to listen to us,
Spare a few minutes for each other in this blind rush,
Never loathe someone without knowing his story,
Your few minutes of listening can easy someone's worry,
You never know what he might be going through,
Suicide is not the death of the individual,
Its the death of the society we live in,
The society which doesnt have time for anything.

excellent message bbut their are a few typo errors(No one noticed that how much weak he had gone inside,)Should read "Nobody noticed how weak he had got inside."He just wanted someone to be his side,"(Should read He just wanted someone to be by his ,or at his side)"We all need someone to talk,"(We all need someone to talk to,or with)The society which doesnt have time for anything."Society doesn't have time for anything or preferably anyone.Other than that the message is loud and clear nice work

Anurag, I hear your message and understand, where you're come from, but sadly, when you reach the stage of attempting suicide, reaching out, is the last thing, you'll do. I speak of this, from personal experience of my attempt, during the holiday season of 2010-11. As you have so rightly pointed out, there is very nasty stigma attached to entire problem surround mental health, global, people refuse to seek help, when needed.

Sadly, I'm a child survivor of physical and psychological abuse, from family members and the kids, on the schoolyard, which was brushed under the carpet, because no one wanted to deal with these issues. Even today, in Ontario, these issues aren't being address, properly. Especially, where it concerns the LGBT+ community. People talk about being supportive towards us, but there aren't any programs to access, when the need is, the greatest. Else, they are short term, 8-12 weeks, before you're back, at the same spot again, with a long waiting list, for see someone else.

Thank you and same to you....take care :)
Anurag - I can relate to this so well. Ireland is currently suffering a suicide epidemic - I personally have lost a dozen friends to it - there is no one who isnt affected by it and we are a small country. I applaud you for this writing and hope the situation around both of us improves. Listening IS the answer - you are so right
Thank you for posting this piece

A great message here. I think our lives are so rushed sometimes that we fail to see the obvious.

Yes indeed. :-(
a clear and painful message. if only we all had just a little understanding, a little empathy then maybe this world could be in a better shape.
this is a touching piece. it only needs a little bit of editing.
