THE GOLDEN RULEA Poem by CA Anurag SharmaThis poem is about conquering the failures and set backs in life The golden rule The words went fickle and sour, The feelings which were once there were no more, Admonishing were the spirits unable to confront the challenges of life, Ocean of failure was everywhere in-spite of strife, The eyes once had the dreams to conquer the world, They were looking at the empty roads, through which the dreams went away, Leaving me broken and alone, The questions inside were looking for the answers which eroded away in the tears, Tired and fed up of the never ending string of failures, I laid myself down under the pressure to perform, Forgetting that to win the outside wars, The demons inside had to be won first, What if the roads were lonely? It meant that those roads were untested, What if I was defeated in a battle? The wars to be won were left, What if nobody cared? I will do it myself, I am not scared, The answers to failures somehow lie within, The failures can’t make our soul thin, The challenge is to comeback from the defeat, To work towards the goals and achieve that feet, I decided to put the baggage of failures behind, In front were the roads where journey was to happen, I picked myself up again to conquer those, To give it a try once more, With a promise to my dreams that they will be fulfilled, With a new zeal I decided to fight, Giving up can never be a option, The golden rule to overcome from failure is to try, try and try. © 2014 CA Anurag SharmaFeatured Review
