Familiarity Breeds ContemptA Poem by Anuradha VermaA poetic take on an old saying.
You smile.
Is it real or a front? Through this wall I can't tell. Tied together by need than want, we are coming undone. You know it too; I am not the only one witnessing the beginning of the end. The signs are not hard to catch: the frost in your eyes, and the stiffness of your greeting, tell the tale of our demise. Though I do not stand blameless in this fallout of ours, grudgingly I confess the lack of guilt or sorrow. It seems form this age old law we are no more exempt than the teeming populous: Familiarity breeds contempt.
