The Pursuit of Dreams

Have you ever had a dream?
A dream where there's just you and me.
Your head on my lap.
As I sit across the mattress of green lawn, spread widely in the midst of a Neverland.

And there I see my face, laughing
as color rise on my cheeks.
When he whispers sweet nothings in my ear.
As I wish I was near, nearer than we already were.
Souls entangled in such a way,
which was almost unbinding.

Your very eyes speaks,
all those unspoken words,
which I want to hear.
Every feather soft touch,
which drove my heart racing.
Every stare, which made me fear.
It was a fear of pleasure.
Fear of Love.
Fear of losing myself,
as I flinched by your very proximity.
It was a jolt of pleasure,
something I never wanted to end.

I wish your hands could hold mine,
those strong fingers interwining, my vulnerable ones,
So that I too could claim your strength.
The warmth of your hands,
that sent a chill all over me.
An unnatural combination of fire striking ice.
An it was an ecstasy.
I could claim you.
Yes! This wonderful person is mine.
And as your lips brushed my hair,
I smiled.
As it dawned on me, that this incredible gift of God,
was indeed mine.
The eternal truth of my life.
The reason of my very existence.

In my dreams, I was the sun,
and you were the earth revolving round me,
as I could see none, but you.
And you chose to make me your sunlight,
your ray of hope,
which would keep you devoid of bad dreams,
make your mind the home for sweet dreams.
As we imagined a future
which concerned you and me, together.
And it was a bliss,
and my only wish.

But then the most crucial and brutal truth creeps in my mind,
almost putting a barrier on the oblivion of dreams, I had artistically drawn,
somewhere in the back of my mind.
The dream which had become my world.
Dreams were on fire, but-
'Can dreams ever come true?'
