Chapter 1: So He Runs

Chapter 1: So He Runs

A Chapter by Antonio Schoenegger

I heard a creak of the stairs, and then a moan. My best guess is that the robber tripped and smacked his knee on the wood. I knew he was a robber because he wore a black mask over his face and a gun on his belt. I wasn't scared of him until he started my way, gun in hand, mask covering up his obvious smile, and stomping on the wooden floor with those black streaked boots that blended into the night like a chameleon on a rock. And he was also fast. Or, at least I think he is because I couldn't focus with a man with a gun pointing at me staring with the expression "You wish you weren't born". So, don't blame me if I don't know if the man can move faster than a normal chap. But, I guess instincts kicked in because before he layed his slimy hand on my leather jacket, I grabbed his elbow and flipped him over. He landed hard and with an uff , obviously on que, beause then I had an oppurtunity to run. I had the oppurtunity to make a dash for it. But then instincts kicked in again as if to say, What about mom and dad, and Bessy? I decided against it. Then, as if faith had a que to cover, the man caught me on the back of the head. I lay cold for a few minutes until I felt his breathe on my neck. I knew it was now or never. So, I craned my head up as quick as I could and as hard as I could, without rupturing my spine. I had got in him in the nose, and he rose instantly. He backed away far enough that I had the chance to run. So I did.
