A friend like a penguin

A good friend is like a penguin. Always wears a tux & likes fish (not just for eating)

A penguins perpetual virtue,

Huddled together for warmth,

To be one, the rest are there for you,

South is better than North.

Thank goodness they are not a duck,

I would cry if they were a type of fish,

Because you see, penguins need no luck,

Nor do they have to wish.

A penguin is always there for you,

No need to shout and squirm,

no questions asked, they'll simply do,

For you they shall stand firm.

So I hope for you,

That you see too,

Their good nature is nothing new.

I love this, really. Not only the form, which is great, and the way you carried out your idea, which is fantastic, but mostly how you picture penguins as men, really, devoted to their families and friends. From one point of view, you tell people to value their friendships, but on the other hand, you show penguins as animals who care just like we care, help just like we help and are as selfless as we are--or actually even more. You humanize them and nowadays, in the era of selfishness and greed, making people appreciate animals and how they add to the beauty of our world is very important. Wonderful work.
