Like flower petals falling one by one
She loves me, she loves me not!
Look at me!
Just look at me will you!
Does she even know your name?
Turns out she did not
They don't like that
Her eyes roll back
You said you would never
And yet you did

Ease the pain with pills
The don't like that
They tell you to flush them
Watch them wash away
Your sanity down the drain
This will make things easier
They dug their claws in deep
They won't be letting go

'Is this a possession?' You wonder
They don't like that
They play no such tricks
We are the understanding
The voices who listen
We know what is best
They don't understand
We do

You come to terms with your situation
Grown comfortable with their voices
Hearing things is actually pretty cool
Fashionable almost
A mysterious phenomena you can't quite explain
Not everyone hears voices
Not so supportive at least
You see it
You want it
They encourage you
You chase it
It cries for help
They don't like that
Be done with it
We don't want you to have this anymore

Don't dismiss such hallucinations as silly
Embrace the madness
They only want what's best for you
But if it doesn't want you back
They don't like that

I like the personification of madness in this piece, it gives the concept of madness a stronger stance while giving something both relate-able and hate-able for the reader
