Wake Up From The Past

Wake Up From The Past

A Poem by Anthony J

Ancestors, warriors
The roots run deep
Protesters, worriers
Time to think

But thick skin is meaningless if it leads to open wounds
If we don't act now, too late becomes too soon

Sure tolerance is necessary, but we're not here to win
Build a wall to knock it down the change comes from within

Author's Note

Anthony J
"My ancestors we're warriors, I'm a worrier" - this sentence was saved on my phone for quite some time and this piece has formed out of that. Current political events have managed to creep in a little
