When Words Fail

When Words Fail

A Poem by Anthony Hart-Jones
"

There are those who wonder why I don't write poetry. They say that a writer should be adaptable, that someone who writes in so many media should have no trouble with poetry. So here's why not...

"
My darling, light in the dark and love of my heart,
My joy in the cold and muse to my art.
Such love I feel that cannot be writ,
For these joys will not on parchment sit.
Know that in parting, you are sorely missed,
And in my mind, sad voices list,
The reasons why I love you so,
But all these thing, you surely know.
So I tell you simply 'You are loved',
For surely, from me, this is more than enough...

Author's Note

Anthony Hart-Jones
I know it's bad. It's meant to prove a point; it's supposed to illustrate why I stopped writing poetry.

Hardly bad it told a good story in a few words and you threw in some humour too.
