Mummy Amma my mumma

Mummy Amma my mumma

A Poem by Aarti Sriram

Mummy Amma my mumma

Whenever mother calls I love the zeal

I talk, report, describe to her a big deal

Even if Mumma is online, not beside

I feel understood and grin satisfied

Mummy talks of  pains I cry longing

About folks, friends about my sibling

The old neighbourhood drink and dine

Bed time stories she had told and I imagine

Once mommy-girl era to connect but often  fight

Cooking and life skills, prudent and poised at sight

Learnt the above also first lessons in conflict management

Now mature I can win over any abuse  entanglement

She taught me to love to discern

To  nurture, not be selfish or forlorn

Then came my hubby and  his big  joint fami-ly

Ma felt accomplished when  in-laws praised.. me

Blessed life with children, hubby n I enjoy our silver jubilee

Pay it forward, even if new hurdles in life seemingly

Think and thank them every day, as I learn to embr-ace

Special mom also mom-in law lent me their feminine gr-ace

You are very welcome :)
What a beautiful tribute to your beautiful and most loving Mam, bless you both. We learn everything about life from our Mam, she has experienced everything and is our first teacher. I miss my loving Mam so very much, it is almost 35 years since she crossed over to Spirit. She is always with me as is Dad, 24 years since he passed, bless them both. We share a beautiful bond with our mam, but for me it did not extend to my Mother-in Law! My husband is one of six children, I am an only child. My in-laws never became my family, sadly but that said, I am happy with the cards which life has dealt me and I play them to the best of my ability. Heartiest Congratulations on your 25th Wedding Anniversary to you and your beloved husband, dear Aarti. I wish you both the very blessed and most wonderful next twenty five years ahead and pray they are filled with the very best of everything for your both and with God's very best, brightest and most beautiful Blessings too! We were married 51 years last September! The years slip by so quickly! Thank you for sharing your wonderfully penned poem, dear Aarti. I so enjoyed reading! Wishing you a very nice, pleasant and relaxed evening to enjoy too...

Thank you for your very kind response, dear Aarti. Most welcome always, dear friend...
A lovely dedication, Aarti. You leave your reader in no doubt about the special bond you share with your Mother, that now appears to extend to your Mother In Law as well. That feminine bond allows plenty of skills and wisdom to be passed down from Mother to Daughter so that a happy life continues.

There is gratefulness in your words and a sense of happiness and contentment from the bond shared. A joy to read.❤️
