Celebrating October!

Celebrating October!

A Poem by Aarti Sriram

Celebrating October

There is Halloween and  Pitru Pooja

Dia de los Muertos  and also eid e shuja

The sacrifice of deceased and our ancestor

Asia to Americas we honour them in October

Fasting rituals end, feast and music beat

Samhain specials and Trick or treat

Sukkot and Sukkahs  traditional attire

Sparkles our eyes, heart and desire

Carved pumpkins and candle fragrance

Navratri to Diwali we  dance and prance

Octoberfest spread at  world happenings

Glows n Lights up the  growing dark evenings

Hachiman Matsuri or be it  Bonfire  Night

Community spirit  Cultures so bright

Albuquerque balloon or Naga Fireball Festival

Immerse in the essence of together and hope renewal

I commented on this beautiful celebration of festivals in October already, but the comment seems to have disappeared, dear Aarti... How you have crafted the poem and used so much colour is very appealing to me, I love it! Only last Friday, I celebrated Diwali with my Indian friends in Germany. I just love "The Festival of Lights" at such an appropriate time of year. Lovely write, dear Aarti. Gratitude for sharing. I wish you all the very best possible, brightest and most wonderful Blessings this new month can bring to you to enjoy!

I really like the colors and rhymes you've crafted here, weird how we relate to the dead, thank you for sharing.

Its a technique I am trying to use more of. Sometimes it's hard to find ways to be more creative.
