Dear Aarti, we face many challenges as we age and the biggest one must surely be the dreaded Menopause! Thank God, life is not over when we are gifted with it. Life goes on as it always did, we have our ups and down, hopefully more ups than downs. We still have our friends who are going through the same element of life as we are, we can still meet up for coffee and a chat and do all the things that we have always done. Menopause brings us to the 'Crone' stage of life. We are now the wise women who give the most wonderful advice to those who do and do not need it, hahaha! We rediscover life and learn to cope with the different ups an downs which we will meet at this level. For me, I wouldn't turn back the hands of time to what used to be, I am more content, happy, joyful, understanding, and I enjoy wonderful good health, my children have all left home and the world is my oyster. I can come and go when and where I like and I have nobody to answer to. I wouldn't trade these final years for the whole world, dear Aarti. So, you have much to look forward to. I am most grateful for these years, as quite a lot of my dear friends never reached this left, they left to go back home to Spirit on our journey through life, bless them all. Wonderfully penned poem, dear Aarti. Very thought provoking and insightful. Love it! Thank you for sharing, dear friend...

Like a wet lost pup and you were feeding a warm soup for the soul ,Marie. I feel very happy that you have passed through that phase and landed into a cozy life . With the right attitude and spirit for life , touch wood, no evil eyes on such lives my dear Marie. I hope I would one day be able to give so much comfort to my parents and not be of any trouble myself to my kids and whenever they settle with their families. I agree life is good without time tables for the whole family and good time at hand. Thankyou for generously adding so many adjectives to my little writes dear. Wish you a cozy and sleepy night ahead !!

They say " kaleidoscope of thoughts " but to me as reader it looks binoculars, where I don't want to see myself though menopause could be sweet haunt ... am not back in the line too...
Youu didn't shy away, but embracing it beautifully... when my mum undergone same thing... I asked mom " how grandmother handle it? You do that way mummy "... now am on that line probably my kid will say same thing to me 😅...
Grateful, being thankful for the form we are .... we are born with millions of eggs (like chicken)... and over the peroid of time we kept shedding it... your poem takes your importance in others life and how much they need you... whereas yourself need someone to share your emotions where they can't undergone or still didn't age to come in terms...
Keep writing sister...

This poem powerfully expresses the challenges of aging, health issues, and the complexity of relationships. The personal reflections add depth, making it relatable and heartfelt.

Dear Tumi , thankyou very much for a supportive review. You have rightly summed it up !
what an amazing lament of aging, that's so full of irony and humour! and i got carried away in the rhythm of the words, it's clear to me you have mastery over rhyme and metre. i enjoyed it, but now i am less looking forward to getting old.

I am re-discovering life and more free time as an empty nester. Recalling so many days, giggles, events and emotions as I go about my day. Children bring a whole album of meaning, structure , strengt.. more..
