how old?

how old?

A Poem by Happy hours

There is a tree, very strong and firm
with lengthy branches and solid roots
serves people unconditionally
nobody knows how old is that tree

Provides sweet fruit to eat and shelter to child
Fought with the wind when it goes wild
people play with the tree
love birds are roam around
kids are playing hide and seek
nobody knows how old is that tree

When the tree become really old
not a single leaf, he holds
then nobody would ask for that tree
and everyone left him free
nobody knows how old is that tree

It will be in our memories till the time
It serve us things
beneficial to us
one day all of his branches become weak
nobody would be there to play hide and seek
ignorance, that the thing he will get
and one day everyone will forget

But as of now he give us things for free
may be some people genuinely
want to know
how old is that tree

Liked the way the poem is laid out : Being Split into 2 parts..former has the ways a tree serves unconditionally, latter shows how with age, it symbolizes a useless piece of log having no one to look at.
Liked the idea : What really matters to anyone is how benificial a creature/thing could be and we pretend they don't really exist when they no more serve us.

Nicely written.. reminds me of childhood stories
Trees are one of those beings who cherish, nourish and connect people through different lifetimes.

When the tree become really old
not a single leaf, he holds

nice lines..

note: little corrections
serve[s] people unconditionally
Provide[s] sweet fruit to eat and shelter to child
love birds [roam] around
kids [play] hide and seek
It serve[s] us things
nobody knows how [ old that tree is]
