Shattered Trust

Shattered Trust

A Poem by Alanna Nox

Cross my heart and hope to die
I hope to live through all the lies
We the people, conceived to deceive
Let's face the odds
If Satan was an angel,
What is God?
I'll be frank, I don't believe in trust
But nowadays I don't believe in much
Leaning on the precipice of hope
Reliance is a thing I've never known
I cherished you..
You were mine
I'm running but I can't catch up with time
I'm shattered
I've been trampled on the ground
I think I'd be best off just staying down

Lovely. A nice one.... Love this when you say....

Let's face the odds
If Satan was an angel,
What is God?
I'll be frank, I don't believe in trust

love this. Nice flow to it and it builds up all the until the end and blows up in your face - in a good way of course.

Thank you!

"I think I'd be best off just staying down" - that last lines says so much. Sometimes it does seem easier to hide after a heart is broken or after one is hurt. You have so much talent! It is wonderful to read your poetry again. Thank you for the RR.
