Ransomed Love

Ransomed Love

A Poem by Alanna Nox

Your love cannot leave if I lock the door/
Holding it captive/
The ransom a promise/
I'm a lost cause/
Together we can flee/
I'm ill, your my remedy/
You say bitter, I say sweet/
Hush now...
All is well

"You say bitter, I say sweet." Opposites do attract, no doubt of that, is there? A love held captive, though, is not one that will last. It will find a way to seep through the cracks. Good expression of emotion in this one. Welcome to the cafe. Lydi**

If only, right. Your poem had a wonderful wry nature to it, that made it both humorous and touching.

There is everything great here, more than anyone could wand in a complex thought. Sometimes love feels this way.

An interesting write. Love takes two to make it work. Sometimes one party works harder than the other, and maybe in such circumstances it can seem like love is being held to ransom. Unfortunately, such a love will flounder in time, I believe. Nicely penned. ~ Robert.

Your thoughts here fly off the page to reveal the desperation of trying to hold onto that one love that can never be ours to keep...very nicely penned:) Welcome to the cafe....
