A Plethora of worlds

A Plethora of worlds

A Poem by AnoudQ

"Among the bones,

the ashes,

and the unsteady spine;

within the skin that engulfs them all;

a world maybe,

or a plethora of them;

I cannot fathom

and never will.

Thorns of  dead flowers,

tears that lost their way;

all alone,

almost gone.

A stigma of an old memory,

a shadow of someone who’s gone,

A story of a beloved one;

a stranger, a friend, or a criminal;

there will always be forgotten ones.

A fire of an angry man;

a woman bereft of hope,

and  a child who strays in his room;

thinking he can save the world.

Among the bones,

the ashes,

and the unsteady spine;

a broken world,

a plethora of them,

I cannot save,

and never will."

Very intense imagery here. I get a feeling of lingering sadness and loss. Possibly a memory of a troubled family. Definitely not your basic upper, but very powerful. Good work.
