Stay

Stay

A Poem by Aria

The tears in her eyes are breaking my heart
The screams from her lips are tearing me apart
They keep pulling her away as she reaches for me
They hold me back as I try to break free

I feel like I am dying
They all mock me for trying
I fall to the ground as they remove each hand
Slowly, I look up to see her weeping on earth's land

They leave me there with my soul aching
I stand and walk to her, my body shaking
Gently, I crumble beside my beloved
I carry her home and to our bed

Their madness has gone to rest
For now, there is nothing more to test
Nothing more to fear
Nothing more to take me away from here

I look into her eyes and we begin to kiss
I make love to my wife and know they cannot take this
No one can take this away
No one can make leave, even though I know I can never stay

I really love this poem. The tone and the struggle of the man to be with his beloved is admirable. Love can stand any test. No one can take it from us. Beautiful write. Keep it up!

this write is very dark and enjoyable - and quite effortless to picture - a pleasurable write
No one can take this away
No one can make leave, even though I know I can never stay
and so this write is also well called 'stay' and they will always be together

I don't do well with talking about myself so I will simply say that my writing sets the stage for my imagination to play. But more than that, every piece I write, whether a poem or novel, is a bit of .. more..
