Ocean to Drown

Ocean to Drown

A Poem by AnonymousPoetry

Why did she choose this ocean to drown?
Its so vast and consuming,
It will swallow her up one day,
I said as I stood still in admiration of her height of loving,
What if she gets  hurt,
What will she do then?

Why did she ever choose this ocean to drown?
I ask myself that very questions
When I walked  past an aged couple
Still holding hands,
Or, when the sun sets shy
Finally leaving these new love birds
As they wrap each another
And steal a kiss as the sun throws
A blanket of orange, red and yellow
Over the couple in celebration of
Their togetherness.

Love,
Why does anyone choose to drown in this ocean?
I guess it must be the fresh scent
Of not being lonely
Or, having a hand to hold on to
Or, even folding steps together
Under the scarce stars
On those silent nights walks.

I have imagined love
But, I am yet to experience
All that is mentioned above.
