Walking through the halls, hearing squeaking noises from my noisy shoes. Why couldn't my mom pack the sneakers instead of dress shoes? As I walked and walked, down hall to hall. When I passed a sign in spanish, Oh, the Irony, whatever that means. I kept walking more and more, up and down stairs. Passing rooms and rooms. I decided to enter outside to the real world, instead of a hotel where I almost got killed by a brother lookalike. I passed an icecream cart, but had no money. I looked, and asked for free samples, because I had no money. They gave me a big cone, and I had to promise not to tell anyone, so I did, of course. I was lucky the cashier spoke english. Walking down the streets, with vanilla icecream. How can it get any better? Licking my icecream, I notice a boy looking around. He looks around my age. I walk up to him. "Do you speak english?" I say.
"Yeah. I lost my parents."
"So did I." I kept licking my icecream.
"Where'd you get that icecream if you lost your parents?"
I had to lie, to keep the promise I made. "I had money."
"Oh. How old are you?" He said, we started walking.
"7, tomorrow."
"I hope you find your parents before tomorrow. But I am 7."
"I hope." I looked at the sky. Then at him. He was wearing a blue jacket, jeans, and a white shirt that said "Yeah yeah yeah" on it. "Your shirt, what is it for?"
He looked down. "You don't know who Yeah yeah yeah, is?"
"No"
His jaw dropped.
"The best band ever."
"oh. sweet."
"Yeah." He started to laugh. "Get it?"
"mhm. Whats your name?"
"Danny."
"Oh, I am Meghan."
"Cool." He ran and jumped. "I know I am talented."
I smiled. Hes my new friend here. I am going to have fun today.
