Sonnet: PredestinationA Poem by Austin SmithI have argued with myself on predestination, and have come to this conclusion. I hope you enjoy, but I also hope it makes you think about it, whether you agree or not.Sonnet:
Arguing With Myself on Predestination To say the universe is infinite, Must also say that it’s not limited. Although the origin’s not definite, When did we say that we’re prohibited? To work so hard to get the best degree, And yet be seen to It of foolishness, For it has been reserved for all to
see, To those that It has chosen, more or
less. To push one’s kids through hell to do
their best, Yet fail, just out of favoritism, Without merit? Why, there would be no
test; The school would end in a cataclysm. Is it real? I must come and insist: The thought of right or wrong would
ne’er exist. © 2010 Austin SmithAuthor's Note
