A New Child

A New Child

A Poem by Austin Smith
"

I feel that there aren't enough poems about babies. So I wrote a poem about a new child. Another poem pyramid, from 1-8-1.

"

A New Child

Time

To shine,

Little one.

You’ve just been born,

Yet you are a prize

For me and my lover.

We hope to be happy now . . .

Now that our abode is complete.

You will have loving parents,

Who will be there for you

In all that you do.

You can trust us

For as long

As you

Live.

This is so delicately phrased...I really liked the idea of a poem pyramid. [:

this was sweet. i liked it. and you are right. there aren't a whole lot of poems about babies.

those i have recently babysat and felt inspired to write a little poem that sort of reflects my thoughts on spending time with the kid.

Lovely. I like the idea of making it a poem pyramid. That's cool.
