Pieces

Pieces

A Poem by Annie

Pieces.

small pieces

Falling around you

as your world grows dim.

Rain.

pouring rain

Pelting down upon empty streets

as you sit there alone.

Thunder.

crashing thunder

Shaking the earth

to it's roots.

Cracks.

deepening cracks

Splitting the very earth

you walk so proudly upon.

Falling.

forever falling

Between the cracks

as thunder crashes,

rain pours,

and the earth breaks into...

Pieces.

many pieces

falling around you

as your world

ends.

I like the way this is laid out, each separate introduction explored in a new verse, a form I don't see very often so nicely refreshing, good work.
