World

World

A Poem by Annie

As your world fades away,

what can you do

but to watch?

As everything magnificent

fades to gray

The spotlights dim,

the sunshine dies.

The world turns black,

and everyone cries...

The tears we shed

will do nothing to stop

the clouds from shadowing,

the rain from falling.

Everything is ending...

As your world fades away,

what can you do

but to watch?

As the world ends

everything we know is lost.

Our love,

Our hope,

Our joy...

As your world fades away,

what can you do

but to watch?

The clouds blacken

Hope diminishingly slackens;

the world turns black.

The spotlights are out,

the curtains drawn,

it's time for the show to end.

The sunshine fades,

all that's left is

gray.

As your world fades away,

what can you do

but to watch?

Time has run out.

The curtains are drawn.

Golden sunshine gone

black.

As your world fades away,

what can you do

but to watch?

The world has ended.

It's too late.

A very well penned piece. A wonderful portrayal of the hopeless helplessness that so many feel in the world today.
