GONG!

GONG!

A Poem by Annie
"

A poem I did with my friend Katie, about the sound of the gong.

"

GONG!

The fire raged throughout the little village

Echoing off it’s eerie tune.

The night was a flight with screaming people

The cool air of the night was replaced with raging heat

Fire blazed across the homes of these village people

And the sound of the gong echoed around

As a warning, but it was more like a countdown

Countdown to the fires crossing the village

GONG!

The sky turned dark black from the ashes

People running, falling on top of each other to get away

Trying to save themselves from the fire

The burning village falling to the ground

Trying to gather their families so they won’t be separated

But some had no luck, as some didn’t make it

GONG!

The savages ran a muck through the village

Setting things on fire, stealing from these poor souls

The lives of these people didn’t matter to them

They cared only for themselves, taking what they want

Whoever got in their way were dead

Blood spilled on the grass that kids use to dance on

Mothers and fathers, dead with white eyes

Children burned and their souls lost

These savages were cruel

And all these people got in return

Was the sound of the gong

GONG!
