Sun and Moon

Sun and Moon

A Poem by Elise D.
"

How is it possible to see potential in someone who's never tried?

"
I want to be pretty like the moon.
The moon only has a chance to shine due to the sun.
I'm looking for my sun.
My person who makes sure I get a chance to shine.
Even if I did I wouldn't be pretty.
The moons beauty is unmatched.
I've found my sun but he's better than me.
His smiles just as bright as the sun.
Yet around him I hide behind him as his shadow.
I wouldn't want it any other way.
I wonder how the moon feels when its hidden to half of the world.
Even then the sun gives it a chance to make sure everyone in the world sees the moons beauty once.
The suns also full of beauty to the point where it hurts.
The sun may be seen less due to the pain but its just known, the suns beautiful.
It brings life, it's the symbol of a new day, and its the light that let's us see.
Its the light that let's us see the moon.
The moon and sun work together hand in hand.
Hes the sun in everyway possible yet I'm just me.
I'm not as pretty as the moon.
I'm just a shadow who shys away in his presence.
As time goes on, he makes me feel like the moon.
He tells me im pretty, he makes me feel beautiful on the inside.
I feel more like myself with him.
He gives me a chance to shine.

He saw me shine before I even knew how to.
