Hooked: an ode to Ricky

Hooked: an ode to Ricky

A Poem by Annie Taylor

I'm hooked. Like a fish caught in the net that is your webbed and twisted love. I'm hooked. Like that favorite sweater that stays on the rack year round because even on a warm summer's night you'd feel chills without it. I'm hooked. Like that part of the song that repeats in your head but you sing it all day long like the other 32 bars were never even sung. Hooked. Like Romeo to Juliet, through an army of Montagues and Capulets, I'd escape to your window just to get your panties wet. Hooked. Like a sinner to sin, hoping that this time will be the last time, and that this love will be the last crime. Hooked. H for helplessly, O for openly, O for Overly, K for on my knees, E-D endlessly devoted in love with you.
