All I Tried To Do

All I Tried To Do

A Poem by Annie29

All I tried to do was fly,
but I'm stuck on the ground.
I gave it my all,
but you just pulled me down.
All I tried to do was smile,
but I always seemed to frown.
I always sang the truth,
but you only rejected the sound.
All I tried to do was live,
but you had me bound.
I have no choice but to run,
and hope never to be found.

A very grounded piece. It runs us through a set of feelings that are regular and relatable in life. I might say that sometimes, gravity ways heavily on our lives. You have painted that weight well.

May the wind carry your ship to a sunnier port of call, where there are no ropes waiting to bind your spirit!

Hugs!

I like it, I've felt this kind of mood before when I've read poetry, it's kind of classic, but that doesn't make it any less important

Wow, I can definitely see the moral of the poem you expressed, and its wonderful. The order you put it in and the way you made it flow, was perfect. Very well done :D

A very deep and emotional write.
You say so much in so few words. I really like it, and can relate.

This is very intense. It grabbed me instantly! I like the way you deal with this message. Direct - without really being blaming.

The reason I write is the reason I breathe, because without it, I would die. I grew up a long time ago. I'm a little too metaphoric, if there is such a word. I use to dream of running through Ter.. more..
