Dried Tears are Something to Cry AboutA Poem by Annica NadieA song I wrote in the middle of the night... It was going to be called either 'Violence,' 'Handcuffs,' or 'Change,' but I thought this name made the most sense - oddly enough. She's screaming again We all know what's happening We all know what's happening to her Such a pity All these lies All this violence
I predict that a gunshot will ring out at 4 'o clock in the morning The house will be empty Bloodstains covering the floor
When all she wanted was more He took it out on her and she never did anything wrong Except for now No one ever expected to see Perfect Patricia in handcuffs But it sure does make a change
What a change
And then around the corner Don't forget about little Tommy Parker Straight A student Never broke the rules They found a gun in his locker And a bomb in his backpack
I predict that he'll be buried six feet under in a cemetary Along with 15 other students And about a dozen of the teachers
They found him lying on the bleachers A second gun in his hand And a bloody letter in the other Addressed to his mother Saying he was so sorry No one ever expected Tommy to try to burn the school to the ground But it sure does make a change
What a change What a change
You know sometimes I feel like the world is crashing down Pieces falling all around Why can't we just stop
1...2...3...Let's go
Patricia will never be perfect She occasionally burns the meatloaf And Tommy doesn't like the pressure It was crushing him, and he fell from grace
I'll say it again
Patricia will never be perfect She occasionally burns the meatloaf And Tommy doesn't like the pressure It was crushing him, and he fell from grace
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?
Are you happy that a chance at a regular life will be gone?
All gone...
You'll find me sitting at the bus stop Playing my guitar And writing this song Singing about How we need to get along
