Last wordsA Poem by Annia free verse about the last moment of love before it goes beyond this realm Last
words -Anokita Chaki In the last few moments of my life laying on my bed I’d feel my soul slipping from my grasp, my hand
growing colder, eyes blurrier But even in those vulnerable moments Might be I’d still hear your sobs Might be I’d still feel your fears Might be I’d still feel your thoughts paranoying u to
the point u can’t breathe Might be I’d still hear your heart beating faster and your
breaths sharper Within that very moment id try to get up, hug you and
say that I’m ok I’d desperately try to comfort you But my hands would have grown too cold And my soul would have almost slipped from my grasp by
now I’d remember my life to be like the tears your eyes
now shed Where each moment comes and goes followed by a new on
but not forever. Then when the moment finally comes and I know that
it’s time for me to go Holding on to the last bits of life I’d hid from death
The faint words would escape my mouth Giving you a last glimpse of the smile you once loved I’d say “I’ll miss you” And smiling back you would say “me too”. © 2025 AnniAuthor's Note
