One Word

One Word

A Poem by Inkcognito

You are the evening star
appearing in the velvet sky
glowing bright in dimming dusk
You are the sunflower
growing wild in a carefully

tended garden of white roses
You are the smooth pebble
nestled in the sand
on a stretch of beach
The first fresh drops of rain
after sweltering heat in
the drought of arid desert
You are the slice of lime
in the cocktail, pink
the flickering flame

in coal darkness of
long lonely nights
You are the single

word on a virgin page
of pure blanc
