Lets do it like the hippies did.

Lets do it like the hippies did.

A Poem by Annelise

It's gotten cold and the street light sends

an eery glow of some dirty yellow

not quite gold.

And Crimson and Clover is doing its job, its gettting overtime by now

you're in such a delicate place, I've got a delicate face

and nothing is going to be all right

at least for tonight.

Well maybe, we could try

I'll throw on some Kings of Leon, we can dance to the old tunes

and I could count your freckles

and you could draw a mural on my skin.

Maybe you could sing to me and I'll recite

some hippie bullshit you always liked.

Just like back then

This was interesting. I like the concept of the street light glowing "not quite gold," that is an image I think that can be really powerful. Good write.
