until my lungs begin to burn

until my lungs begin to burn

A Poem by Annelise

Being with you
Was like being underwater
Muted and otherworldly
Discombobulated
Apart of but seperate from
And all the while
Your words pulsing in my veins
Your fingertips burning up my skin
I never even knew I was drowning
