You Make My Heart Do Flippy-Flops

You Make My Heart Do Flippy-Flops

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire
"

I do believe I have snagged one of the last decent men on the face of this planet :)

"

You have planted a permanent smile on my heart
In such a short time -
I've waited, you've searched
- so far apart
To hold something this dear and sublime -
I've sat in amazement for the past nine days
Watching your every move -
And I seem to be stuck in a clearing haze
As much of my pain, you begin to remove -
The last time my smile made my face ache
It hurt all the more in the end -
So I am hoping this time for both our sake
That we will quickly ascend -
Your touch, your kiss
You make my heart do flippy-flops  -
And you should know that this
I wish to yell from the rooftops -
If I could tell the whole world
How you've made me feel -
I would be completely unfurled
As I finally take the wheel.
With every kiss my head has spun
Disoriented to the touch -
To think that this has only just begun
And I've already fallen in love with you -
So fast, so much.
