Directed Against

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

We were put here to live

love and forgive.

But most chase destruction

Which led to our deduction

Others chose to leave that thought

and the gun may still be hot

a little reminder - a forget/me/not.

We have just begun this life

and already so many have consulted the knife.

Why self - mutilate

When you can reiderate...?

Pardon me for not grasping your idea of predestination,

but mind you, this is no exhibitation.

You think man knows all,

But how dumb must you be, to WATCH yourself fall???

The natural high in life has gone a stray

As drugs took that paradise far, far away!

Smiles no longer come and go,

as a matter of fact - they're injected for show!

Who needs feelings when the answer lies in a pill,

As you lay in bed at night thinking,
"Hey, I suppose I will".

That s**t

- Will KILL.

Think for yourselves for a change,

It's YOUR body,

It's YOUR mind,

do what you'd like,

But don't expect sympathy

When I'm the last to confide.

Angry confusion shines out of this. So many can identify with these feelings. Drugged with disorganisation and rife with criticism of a world not many of us can understand. Good write.

Wow this is one intense rant and I am whole heartedly with you on this one... it seems humanity has become numb to itself as people would rather be at odds then just except that we have differences of opinion and their is room for all... and so many take violence as ways to solve petty problems then again our great leaders set that as example... anyways icould go on and on but I will just say powerful raw and so real are your words.
