Broken Direction

Broken Direction

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire
"

"

So much floods the mind

Every word of every kind.

Yelling and screaming

Nightmares and day - dreaming.

What is going on

Can someone tell us, what is wrong?

Internal suffering

Turmoil buffering.

Social - life crashing

Distorted bashing.

Just what exactly are we saying

Making up rules to this game we've been playing.

Just what exactly are we missing

While we're so busy ignoring and dismissing.

Spending too much time losing sleep

Another battle for insanity to meet.

Sleeping pills

And evening drills.

Endless thoughts, spoken aloud

Drawing in this interrogating crowd.

Sick of all these mindless drones

This army of dumb - founded clones.

Like druggies at a rave at night

They refuse to acknowledge wrong from right.

We've been waiting for our chance to run,

From nightmares that are far from done . . .
