A Night Alone

A Night Alone

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire

You can't imagine how I feel.
My heart is hurting....
This pain is so real.

I'm wishing on every star there is tonight.
But baby,
How can I see with all this city light?

I'm wishin' and wishin'....
But I ain't doin' all that great.
I'm wishin' and wishin'....
That all this hurt is gonna disappear,
But it's too late.

I've crumbled down one more time.
I've been hurt so many days and nights.
That I can't feel a single nerve,
No longer do I believe of this, that I deserve.

All the glimmering stars have vanished!
They're gone.
And I'm alone.

You're not here tonight.
I don't have your shoulder to lean on and cry.
Some how I just don't feel right,
And I can't quite figure out why.

But I'll see you again soon.
As for now,
I'll sit in my wholesome room,
And try to find that happy face,
That lies upon the moon.
