Kiss In The Rain

Kiss In The Rain

A Story by Annebelle Ashire

Rain slowly exhales from the clouds.
Thunder clashes all around.

But I could care less.

I stand in the middle of this down-poor
Imagining you here with me.

Have you ever kissed someone in the rain?

(I have...just once)

Pitch dark under a thunder storm?

Chills of excitement wander across my arms

...

Picturing us running around in the rain.
Standing under the stars you can no longer see.
Under a moon that does not exist.

I stand here, in the middle of it all.
The next time it rains I'll wander outside and do it all over again.
But maybe next time I won't have to pretend that you're there.

I'm soaked clear to the skin,
Shivering,
New shoes drenched,
T-shirt and jeans consumed by the falling water.

The grass is covered in it,
Almost flooding.

I stomp at the ground and let the muddy liquid cover me.

Have you ever kissed someone in the rain?

(I have...just once)

A mixture of laughter, tears, and water.

Do you want to kiss me in the rain

...

?

Cool piece. I like it a lot. It is vivid and paints a clear picture. Here are a few of my favorite lines, "Rain slowly exhales from the clouds."; "Standing under the stars you can no longer see."; "Do you want to kiss me in the rain?".
