Thank You, Lord

Thank You, Lord

A Poem by Annebelle Ashire
"

Hannah Michelle Rice [ 1 year of age ]

"

She grabbed a hold of my hand
This little miracle God had planned

She found a spot within my heart
From that moment on I knew she would never part

She smiled up at me
Her laugh had set my soul free

Her fingers so small but so strong
So carefree
No way she could get this wrong

I lost it then and there
I was in a whole other world
Her eyes held a deep-blue flair

She stared at me and I wanted to cry
God's master piece
Was looking me straight in the eye

My heart ached for the months I had missed
I took her little hand and planted a kiss

She giggled and smiled some more
And I just sat there in amazement on the living room floor

An angel in reality
Every feature
Measured perfectly

Every flaw
...
None-at all

She never took her eyes off me the whole car ride
To the mall
Until she nodded off to sleep
She's so small
I swore right then to myself

"This memory I will keep"
