All I ask of You

All I ask of You

A Poem by Anne Verona

I will give you
the sun
the moon
the stars

I give you
my heart
my soul
the words of my art

There is little
I wouldn't give
I wouldn't do

But all I ask of you

Is to love someone else

So I could stop this mad chase for you

Do you think that if I am with someone else that your affection will immediately abate! I sense the opposite before any abatement starts. Especially, if the attraction was strong initially.

Well, that is indeed true. It wouldn't.
Ahh this is so sad. We'll give the people we love everything and we won't ask anything in return. That's how much we love them. Beautifully written poem, Anne.
