We Are The Beauty

We Are The Beauty

A Poem by Anne Timmins

We are the beauty in the autumn leaves,
the brilliant reds and golds and warmest bronze.
We are the fragrance in the roses red,
and the sweet scent of summer clover
borne on the balmy August breeze. We are
the magic in the changing sky, the twinkling
of the stars, and the rainbow's wondrous hues.
We are the power of the surging sea,
the might of crashing thunder, and the
calmness of the placid lake in early June.

We are one with nature, and its majesty
resides within our souls. Within us lies
the Essence of God who made the trees to grow,
and the blossoms to burst forth from loamy soil.

I agree with your words and thoughts.

When we understand. Nature and man need each other. Would be a better world if we treated nature with respect and concern. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

This is a beautifully written poem. The images are descriptive and I love the way it sounds when read out loud. The smooth, silky, 's' sound is woven throughout. Well Done!

This one shows just exactly where your heart lies. Your descriptive narrative is excellent with very well chosen wording that draws the reader in.

This has for me the feel of the Lake Poets, rich in classical imagery, this is traditional prosody full of class.
