Societal Amnesia

Societal Amnesia

A Poem by Anne Timmins

scattered
tattered
tossed

upheaval-until we can't recall
remember
idealize

illusions.. .
pictures mere flashes
just
memories
not even!

blurbs!
what is that?
who knows?
our sub-conscience
can't arouse

This is a mind-opening piece with a lot of power. You explore the human psyche, the workings of the mind played in contrast to that which our heart seeks. Or this is just my interpretation of what is written.

The style of writing is easy to read and the content is relatable. A very worthwhile read.

with its short one word lines this races along, good use of the lower case, a firework of a poem..

this is excellent writing. It uses such detailed description to create a scene and express the emotion

Now you read me....
....Now you don't. :)
Great write, I mean we are so overwhelmed with social media, mass media, subliminal messages, faces in crowds, current events... Give me amnesia. Some days I would welcome it!

For me, this captures the essence of the whole twitter, snap chat, instagram life everyone seems to be living now. It might not be what it is about, but that's what it makes me think of.
