High

High

A Poem by LonelyWanderer

Noises seemed distant, thoughts - a cloudy bunch

She pressed her lips against the tobacco tasting ones

The alcohol slowly seeped through her veins

Taking over her mind, body and brain.

Some distant voice slowly, softly cried

But loud enough to cross the foggy mind

Reminding of better times and olden days

Of sober mind and tender ways.

Long night walks and endless talks

Stupid fights and hugging tight

Where life hadn't got its evil turns

For them to get the cuts and burns.

Times had changed and tables turned

The love was gone, beauty undone

But still they met in the crowdy bars

High as f**k to forget their scars.
