Winter

Winter

A Poem by LonelyWanderer

'I miss winter just because I miss when I knew you best.'

She still felt those days of December like they were just yesterday.

He stood at the corner of the street every Sunday waiting eagerly for a walk.

Down the lonely dark city streets, slowly dozing off.

The warmth of his hands when the cold wind blew.

Little talks and laughs. Those were the days she knew.

And still the cold wind blows and December comes alright.

The city still dozes off to sleep every night,

As she walks alone down the lonely land

And looks at the corner of the street where nobody stands.

I like this, I feel, however, that this is more of a story than a poem. I think that the ending falls a little short, and I would love to see this story a little longer, and really get to know the girl in the story. Lots of potential! Looking forward to more of your work!
