semblance of normality
my reality really
not another dream
a stream of consequences
when my incendiary heart
is torn apart by another
meaningless encounter

It certainly seems to be referring to passionate encounters, which inevitably can cause heartbreak. Despite feeling "meaningless" afterwards, the temporary fulfillment or brief moments of pleasure; could still sometimes help towards giving a brief psychological boost? Sometimes though, there can be reasons why moving on is inevitable. Such as when the conscious mind, takes into account; a more comprehensive take of who ever those partners happened to be - and just decides that there would be other barriers to seeking long-term closeness? Of course, only the writer knows for sure.

I get it. S**t happens when our hearts get involved. All of us want excitement and happiness, but things can go hay wire real quick too.
