My Imperfection

This is my Poem-A-Day for National Poetry Month (17 April 2023). #143 in my Hot Tub series.

anti-gravity delusion
floating in the void
nothing within view
from where
my illumination

I dream?

clinical flight
like a clean room
no dust or grime
a vast illusion
nowhere and everywhere

all at once?

what is time
if not a reference
for that which is
was or will be
my imperfection

Your words lie compactly, following a thought, yet oscillate as the poem moves start to finish. But then, perhaps not intended to finish: Can there be one within and beyond infinity?

The photo was the inspiration, a body floating in nothingness, extraordinary, existence within the void, a sense of the finite in the infinite. Imperfection within perfection. I question if it is a dream.

Crafted obtuseness in this curious piece. With a dash of contradictions. Seriously too, what is time itself; but a mere human construct? So perhaps, time really could be perceived as an illusion?
