HOW COULD YOU BE A MOTHER?

HOW COULD YOU BE A MOTHER?

A Poem by Annie S

It's like your mind and love is washed in cement.
You make other people's life around you feel like hell
Don't take it the wrong way, it's no compliment
Anyone would wish to have a family like yours
What's more precious to you is money and this world
Like it's going to collapse within itself.
I thought you were her mother
Working day in and day out and no heart to heart
with your daughter

It makes me feel like i'm on the tip of the knife,
leaning dangerously to one area of destruction to the next .
She's calling you,''Mommy! Mommy!.. I'm scared.''
to tuck her into bed
I don't want to help her because you're there
Stop! messing around and get up from that windsor chair
And help her say the Lord's prayer.

It's really hard to watch someone mess up their life... It's even harder to see them messing up with their kids. I've been there before, and I definitely understand the balancing act of not wanting to interfere, but yet feeling like you should. Really nice writing!

Thanks for your review on my song!

Ok ,reality check. I love how you describe this scenario. you put a lot of feelings into it. I sense it and also know it. I strongly believed you have labeled the situation well.

A hard world. Many poor mothers must work. Hard for children to be separated from their mothers. A sad poem. A parent must make time for the kids. Kids need a gentle voice and a mother love. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
