"Among The Dead" A dedication to Isaac Decker

A Poem by Annawanna01
"

This poem is dedicated to my little cousin who's death was a tragedy to my family. He will be remembered. He will be missed. May he Rest In Peace.

"

The rain drips slowly down the black surface of the little coffin

People gathered around it

Umbrellas in hand

Thinking of days never lived

Loves never loved

The father walks up to the small crowd and speaks about his son’s life

For he is in a better place now

And that in his three short years

He lived more than most

But tears fall from the eyes of many

Longing to see their beloved friend again

Wishing that there was some way he could be here again

Many would have traded their life for his

He was so full of love

For anyone and everyone

His brother walks to the coffin

And gently places his hand on the white shiny surface

Saying goodbye one last time

A tear trickles down his cheek

Adding one more drop to the rain

He walks back to his mother crying silently

They slowly lower the coffin into the ground

Its final resting place

Among the dead
