Love in the dark

Love in the dark

A Poem by Anita Singh

Love in the dark

You love me on Saturday night

You love me again on Sunday

But when Monday comes, you forget who I am.

You love me only in the nights

You want me when you can’t see my sad eyes

You love me when I pretend to smile

And then when Tuesday comes

You walk in front of me without saying “Hi”

You love me on the dance floor

But you ignore me when I knock your door

Hey! I am the same woman

The one you loved in the night behind the bar

The one you asked out for a picnic in a park

You scarred and played  games with my heart

The same old girl you kissed so many times in the dark.

Reminds me of a cartoon I used to see called Love Is.
One that always stuck in my mind was: "Love Is always taking the chipped cup"

A lot is said just in our actions.

Wow. This one is really good. A sad yet beautiful piece. Loved the last 2 lines -
"You scarred and played games with my heart
The same old girl you kissed so many times in the dark.",

You're welcome
I've had men like this, it had to be on their terms. But that's not what love is, it's not part time.
It's all or nothing. Very relatable.

Some people come into your life just to jerk you around. Push him into an ant hill.
