Somewhere i belong

Somewhere i belong

A Poem by Anita Singh
"

Of freedom and Escaping..

"

Is there a place somewhere so far?

Where I can bury my face in the wet grass.

Bind my psy to my heart, so crass!

And seize the wind that breaks me apart.

I have to ask, what do you mean by "psy?" -Like the Greek letter? I love the open-ended-ness of the question, "Is there a place somewhere so far?" This is subtle surrealism. I adore surreal art too. Here you are casting doubt on the idea a place so far could even exist! Great line of questioning. I must admit, and this is just me, that only the third line is still confusing me. I don't understand it, so it seems it could be altered in my mind, but perhaps this is not fair. I just am not clear about it's place. The last line is beautiful and powerful! "And seize the wind that breaks me apart!" Terrific line. This is one of those rare poems that really need not be a line more. The four lines and the title say it all. My only hesitant complaint is the third line. I feel it could be substituted, but maybe just for my poor feeble brain to comprehend its brilliance!

The question I ask myself time and again. Where do I belong? Is there a place somewhere far?

The place is always there in your own heart, a beautiful piece of poetry.

Thank you! :)
Why would you want to seize the wind that breaks apart? From the person that comes out of your poems, you seem like the one who would stand and resist it. Nice one Annabella!
